This blog looks absolutely TERRIBLE. There is no other way to describe it. I’ve just now spent half an hour at least looking at it searching through the admin tools to find a simple way to permanently insert a simple .jpg file under one of the sidebars, just a little something for starters, and there’s no way to do it that I can see. Sure, you can supposedly put in stuff inline to your blog post, something I’ve yet to try because every time I take my digital camera anywhere something bad happens to prevent taking pictures (that camera might be bad luck), but there seems no way to permanently change the appearance of the blog even slightly. I can’t even find where the hell it is to change the blog name from “Tempestuous Fury” which gets lamer every time I see it. A cursory search of the Internet for customizing Word Press has brought up recommendations to get various plugins installed, which I first don’t know how to do and which second might be impossible for me to do because I have no admin rights on the machine running the whole thing. Finally, it seems the only conceivable way to edit the page is through directly changing the coding in the chosen theme through the theme editor, and for me to do that I will have to learn the syntax of it all, no mean feat. I may as well say the hell with that and use the effort more profitably on gaining basic proficiency in HTML which is much more universal anyway.
Yeah, and while I’m wishing here, I’d also like to learn how to code stuff in C, and maybe eventually figure how to organize the code properly with functions… Don’t want to get too optimistic and try to wish for understanding how objects in C++ are properly written and used…
