I Weirded out a Bunch of Librarians Today!

What did you do? :D

It’s easy! All you need to do is ask for the historical annual inflation rates of the Swiss Franc as well as the exchange rates between the US Dollar and the same from 1979 to modern day.

Try it! You’ll be amused.

Holy crap. And was this of a public librarian?

Yes, I did indeed ask this of a public librarian. It was at the local regional library; she ended up calling the headquarters library in Tampa. The conversation was humorous: “Yes, the Swiss Franc. Yes, Switzerland.” (I’d made an especial point on that so they didn’t confuse it with the French Franc) The person in the business collection at the John F. Germany library in Tampa was apparently utterly clueless about Francs, especially the Swiss kind. I might as well have asked for pictures of the Roswell aliens or something. :)
